The 24th of May marked the Energy Day. So to celebrate this day, the Energy Club members were shown selling self-decorated woven bags to the students for $2. Cupcakes made by members and other snacks were also sold as well as Energy Club bookmarks.
The club also pledged to join the “Switch Off & Set” campaign where the members and the students of PTEK stuck “Switch Off When Not Needed” stickers beside switches around the college. The staff and students also set the air-conditioning at 24⁰C or lower than usual.
In the morning of the same day, the Energy Division, Prime Minister’s Office celebrated Energy Day at the Songket Hall, Rizqun International Hotel. The event saw the Minister of Energy handing out awards to public and private sectors for the inaugural National Energy Efficiency & Conservation Initiatives Awards (NEECIA) or the Anugerah Contoh Initiatif Dan Kecekapan Penjimatan Tenaga. For the secondary school and higher institution category, PTEKatok’s Energy Club had managed to grab the award. A trophy, a plaque & a cash award worth $1000 was awarded to the club.

Interschool Debate Competition 2010
On 4th May 2010, PTEK’s Debaters won the 14th Brunei Darussalam Interschool-School Senior Level English Debating Competition 2010. The Grand Final debate commenced at the Ministry of Finance with the case “This House Believes That Eco Tourism Benefits the Local Population”. The school team was on the Proposition side whilst Maktab Sains PSBS is on the Opposition team.
Without further delay, the first speaker, Neo Hwee Yong delivered his talk with an introduction to their argument and explained terms that will be occasionally mentioned regarding the case. He also talked about the case divisions. The debate heated up when the second speaker, Jarrod Sim Cheng Jie started on the content and during the rebuttal of the third speaker Julius Hong Yan Chin.
The other team members were Dk Siti Zulaikha Pg Hj Ishak, Aqilah binti Hj Hashim and Afiqah binti Hj Hashim with supervisors; Johanna Liew, Chong Tze Liang and Dk Zarina Jade.

Xpress Video
On the 29th April 2010, the Xpress Video Competition was held at Lecture Theater 1 organized by the Prefects of PTEK 2009-2010.
Students gathered at the LT1 at 2PM and showed how supportive PTEK students were as LT1 was packed with both Upper 6 & Lower 6 students. The ceremony started with the recital of Surah Al-Fatihah.
This was followed by the opening speech by the Head Prefect of the Bureau of Welfare. The objective of the event is to see the ability of students at creating video clips, they way they express themselves in school, to expose students to ICT programmes and to motivate usage of new technological skills.
The competition was open to all students of PTEK with this activity it can challenge the creativity of students in visual entertainment. The theme for this video competition is “College Life”.
The screening and judging day was held days before the event which was on the 26th April on a Monday afternoon. Participants’ videos were given points based on originality, creativity, acting and editing plus add-ons.
A total of 6 groups managed to reach the finals. They are as follows (with description for each video made by the groups themselves- ie. unedited);

Consisting of moving pictures of students in PTEK with their beautiful minds about their college life and how happy they are to be in PTEK.
GP2NE2 – ‘It’s Her Fault’
Dal never miss the 1st place in every exams, but the things had changed since a new student, Zee, transferred to her class managed to beat her score at the end-of-year examination. It made her upset and she planned for revenge, but she never thought that she might lose her best friend after she killed Zee. Zee’s ghost hunts Dal a month after she did.
Krihiik Perodakshen – ‘A Normal Day At School’
A day in your average boy’s college life. Muiz was caught sleeping in class. After class, somebody hit Muiz by accident. At the canteen, the school gang want to collect their money from Muiz. Muiz refused to give it at that time. The leader of the gang ordered his henchman to get rid of Muiz. Muiz isn then saved by Rina. P.S It Is a totally random story.
Resident Pelik @ Katok Evil – ‘Antam Note’
This is a short-clip about three students who get “Antam” by a mystery man when they read a cursed note found on the floor.
Janji Ada Production – ‘Hit And Misses’
Elmi – The main character, is interested to ask Tikah to be his prom queen. As Tikah & her best friend, Anum pass by, Anum thought that the boys were looking at her. Elmi’s opportunity suddenly appear when she saw Tikah distressed infront of a broken down car. Unfortunately, Tikah did not Fancy Elmi.
The competition was won by the Janji Ada Production lead by Ak Md Fadhul’lah Iskandar. The 2nd place went to Krihiik Perodakshen lead by Md Fauzan bin Hj Abd Aziz while the 3rd place was given to ME lead by Nur Amalina Bte Hj Abu Bakar.
